On-U Sound is one of the most important and influential independent labels in British music history. Founded by Adrian Sherwood in 1980, the label has been home to an extraordinary catalogue spanning dub, post-punk, electronic and sound system culture, with artists including African Head Charge, Creation Rebel, Tackhead and many more.
Despite the label's legendary status, much of its catalogue had never been made available digitally, remaining inaccessible to a new generation of listeners who had grown up in a streaming and download world.
We built a new website for the label and undertook a major digitisation project, making a significant portion of the On-U Sound back catalogue available for download for the first time in the label's history. Work that had shaped British music for decades was finally accessible to the world.
