The United Liberation Movement for West Papua is the internationally recognised body representing the West Papuan people's right to self-determination. Formed in December 2014 following a historic gathering of West Papuan leaders in Vanuatu, the ULMWP united the three main independence organisations into a single, coordinated voice — one capable of engaging the international community at the highest levels, from the UN General Assembly to the Melanesian Spearhead Group.
When the organisation launched, it needed a website that could carry the weight of that mandate — a credible, clear digital presence capable of reaching politicians, journalists, diplomats and supporters across the world.
We built the site from the ground up: designed to communicate with authority and clarity in a context where every word matters. The architecture prioritised access to statements, background, and historical documents — including declarations, manifestos and congress resolutions spanning decades of the independence movement — alongside calls to action for the international solidarity community. Throughout, the design reflects the dignity and seriousness of the movement it represents.
It is exactly the kind of work Dancing Turtle exists to do.
