Podcast production

Most podcasts come unstuck not because the idea was bad, but because the production wasn't there to sustain it. Dancing Turtle Media handles everything from format development to final master. You focus on the conversations. We make sure they're worth hearing.

About this service

Podcast listening in the UK has grown steadily for the best part of a decade, and the numbers have now reached a point where it’s hard to ignore as a medium. Over two thirds of UK adults have listened to a podcast at least once, with 42% tuning in monthly and 30% weekly — and weekly listeners spend an average of five and a half hours per week doing so. That’s an audience actively seeking out long-form content, engaging with it on their own terms, and increasingly making it part of how they stay informed. For organisations with genuine expertise and a point of view, it’s a serious opportunity. The question isn’t really whether to have a podcast. It’s whether you can make one worth listening to consistently over time — which is where most of them come unstuck.

We handle all of that. Format and concept development, sonic identity, recording management, editing, mastering, show notes, and distribution across all major platforms. The infrastructure is in place. You concentrate on the conversations.

Audio is not an afterthought for us — it’s where we started. We run a record label and have worked in studios for over twenty years. We understand how to make something sound right, but we also understand narrative and pacing — how to hold someone’s attention across thirty minutes of audio, how to structure an episode so it builds rather than meanders. Those are different skills, and both matter.

We start with a pilot — one properly produced episode that lets us refine the format before committing to a full run. From there we move into a regular production schedule: recorded, edited, mastered, and published to a reliable timetable.

A podcast done well reaches audiences you wouldn’t otherwise get to, positions your organisation as authoritative without you having to say so directly, and produces content that works across every other channel. Most of our clients wish they’d started sooner.
