These terms apply to all film licenses issued by Dancing Turtle Films. They set out what each license permits, what it doesn't, and how to get in touch if your situation isn't covered here.
Home streaming license — valid for 7 days from the date of purchase.
DVD, educational and institutional licenses — perpetual. Once purchased, your license does not expire and there are no annual renewal fees.
Home license — personal and household viewing only. The license covers a single household and may not be used for any form of public, group, or commercial screening.
Educational license — schools and community groups. Includes non-commercial classroom screening rights.
Institutional license — universities, libraries, museums and archives. Includes public performance rights, library lending and institutional access for students and staff.
Institutional license holders are required to credit the film when promoting or presenting screenings. Credit should read:
Licensed from Dancing Turtle Films — dancingturtle.com
Educational license holders are encouraged to include the same credit where possible.
Institutional license holders may host the supplied HD file on their own institutional discovery system or internal platform, provided access is restricted to users covered by the license.
Broadcast licenses, archive placements, festival rights and other uses not covered by the three standard tiers are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact films@dancingturtle.com to discuss.
Our streaming platform uses email domain verification rather than accounts or passwords, making access straightforward. Here's how it works:
The link cannot be used by anyone whose email address is outside your institution's verified domain.
No. There is no sign-up process and no password required. Users simply verify their institutional email address and receive a secure watch link. The process takes seconds.
Yes. Institutional streaming can be accessed both on campus and remotely, provided the user verifies an email address from the licensed institution's domain.
The only data collected during the streaming verification process is the user's institutional email address. This is used solely to verify domain access and is deleted immediately once used, or within 24 hours if the link goes unused. No user profiles are created and no browsing or viewing data is collected.
Our full Privacy Policy is available at dancingturtle.com/privacy-policy. Institutions with specific data processing requirements are welcome to contact us at films@dancingturtle.com to discuss a formal data processing agreement.
Yes. If you'd prefer to host the film on your own discovery system or internal platform, we can provide an HD file as part of the institutional license. The file may only be made available to users covered by the institution's license.
Yes. An SRT subtitle file is provided with every institutional license. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please mention this when enquiring.

Once payment is confirmed, we'll be in touch to arrange access.
