A Free West Papua solidarity concert will take place in Port Moresby later this week, bringing together leading musicians, cultural figures and community voices in a public show of support for West Papua’s freedom struggle.
The gathering will be held at Jack Pidik Park with entry free throughout the evening.
The line-up features some of Papua New Guinea’s most influential artists, including George Telek, alongside Naka Blood / AK47, Tabambramu, Airileke, Pius Wasi, Bangu (members of Sanguma), and Paluai Sook Sook.

West Papua independence leader Benny Wenda will appear as a special guest, continuing his international advocacy for the West Papuan independence movement during a visit to Papua New Guinea as part of his global freedom tour.
The event brings together music and message in equal measure, using music as a platform to amplify awareness of ongoing struggle for freedom in West Papua. It reflects a wider regional solidarity that has long existed between Papua New Guinea and West Papuan communities across the border.
