We’ve launched a new series of curated collections in the Dancing Turtle shop, bringing together releases from across the label’s catalogue in themed sets that tell a fuller story than any single record can on its own. Six collections are available now, each one drawing a thread through a particular artist, group of artists or theme that has shaped the Dancing Turtle catalogue over the years.

The Chris Austin collection gathers the work of the late Medway songwriter whose creativity left a lasting mark on everyone who encountered it — from the early energy of Hospital Bombers and Burn Paper Tigers through to the carefully crafted songs of Tape Error. It is a collection that exists in his memory and in recognition of what he left behind.

The Elpoep & Paradise Found collection traces a shared sensibility across several Dancing Turtle artists — Elpoep’s reflective debut Love & Nature, the electronic folk works of Paradise Found, and the wider Organic Mechanics compilation — music that resists easy categorisation and rewards patient listening.

The West Papua collection brings together four releases documenting music of culture, identity and resistance in the struggle for West Papuan freedom. From the covert recordings of Sounds Like Freedom to the voices of the Lani Singers across both of their albums, and the international solidarity project Merdeka featuring artists from seventeen countries, it is a collection that carries genuine weight.

The Daisuke Tanabe collection traces the development of one of Japan’s most distinctive electronic producers across his Dancing Turtle releases — the acclaimed After Few Layers Before double 7-inch, the Your Own Thing remix single, and his contribution to the Organic Mechanics compilation.

The Inkliing collection gathers the key releases of the late Conrad Colson — his debut EP, Bounce EP, the posthumous Weekending EP, his remix of the Lani Singers’ Wologwe, and his Organic Mechanics contribution — tracing an artist of constant evolution whose loss is still felt.

Conrad Colson tragically passed away in 2022 at the age of 34.

The Amycanbe collection covers the early journey of the Italian band whose demo landed at Dancing Turtle in 2007 and led to one of our most cherished label relationships — debut EP, debut album, limited edition singles and a remix, all gathered in one place.
